For focused light needs, and very low power consumption, THIS is good!! Hopefully, THE LIFE of this bulb will last, and NOT burn out in 3-6mths as SOME brands (routinely do)!! (Updated on 4/17/2011.)

I replaced a 60 watt incandescent light in an overhead hallway light. The light is rather dim, but adequate in this application. A wider range of wattages might be useful.

Bought the warm white 36 led side firing lights. Warm white isnt as warm as an incandescent, but is much easier on my eyes than the white. A single unit replaced a 60w bulb in the hall, on the front porch. I would rate them equivalent to a 40w incandescent. Two of them were used in a bedroom fixture, again replacing 60w bulbs. While the light level is noticibly lower, it is still adequate. Once it is screwed into the socket there is only 90 degrees of rotation available to have the light pointing downward.
