Works well in table lamp

Just be sure you want a bright white light. My wife and I bought a new lamp at a furniture store that came with a bright white incandescent, which worked well with the lamp, so we wanted to match that which this bulb does. Lamp has a crisp white shade on it and this bulb showcases the shade and provides clean white light in our foyer.

Replace 60W Outdoor clear incandescent

Ive only had them about 2 weeks.
Initial price is high but will pay for themselves (one on each side of my garage door)in about a year running about 10 hours per night not including the cost of replacement incandescent bulbs. Unfortunately not dimmable (minus 1 star) so I wont be able to use the former photocell controllers.
The warm white is about the right color temperature to simulate a typical tungsten filament bulb but it is much cooler than the warm white image on the LEDLight web site. I did not have any clear tungsten filament bulbs to compare it to. Although I would say the brightness is somewhere between an incandescent 40W & 60W bulb it is difficult to judge because the light output is very different than a traditional tungsten filament bulb. It is spread out with multiple light sources so you dont get that harsh hot spot that a traditional incandescent light produces, especially in a clear bulb. The bulb is plastic but it must not be evacuated since one cold morning I noticed a few small drops of condensate in the bottom of the bulb (hangs threads-up in these outdoor fixtures). The plastic bulb is very clear with no signs of a seam. Also one of these cold mornings I grabbed the bulb before I turned it off for a temperature test. It felt cool but Im guessing above ambient.
So far my wife has not noticed the difference in looks. Although I dont think one would want the cool white, I like the slightly cooler color temperature of these (warm white)than my neighbors incandescent outdoor lights.
Lights arrived in packaged very well in robust individual boxes.

I bought 2 of these in warm white and I am very pleased that there is only a slight difference in color from incandecent. I have one side by side with a 40w regular over my stove that stays on most of the time. My wife did not even realize I had changed it. Plastic housing get warm to touch but will not burn you. Even CFLs get hot compaired to this unit. I will know more as time goes on. Great replacement for lights in kids rooms that stay on most of the time too. A little pricey right now but should they work as indicated they will pay for themselves soon enough. Hope to purchase more in the future.

Not a lighting Tech expert, but I use this bulb in a swing arm fixture over my computer, and its emission is more than adequate.

Perfect Desk Lamp

I have been using this light for about 15 (or so) days, and its the perfect light for a desk lamp. (update) I forgot to mention that this review is referring to the "warm white" version of this bulb, and that the desk lamp that I use is generally the sole light that I use while at my PC in a relatively small bed room.
My previous light for my desk lamp was a 23 watt CFL. This CFL did put out more light, but not significantly so. The biggest difference between this LED and my prior CFL is the color of the light. The CFL had a noticeable blue tinge to the light, but this LED has light that is, in my opinion, virtually indistinguishable from an incandescent bulb.
My first reaction was, "Isnt that quaint, it looks exactly like one of those old bulbs!". Hah! How times change so quickly. (Updated on 9/22/2010.)
